WORLD
LEADER IAC LAUNCHES ‘GREEN’ SILENCER RANGE
IAC
Limited of Winchester is introducing what it believes to be the first
British-made ‘green’ silencer range for air handling applications.
With acoustic infill material made from specially-developed post-industrial
organic fibre, IAC is continuing to set the industry standard by providing
eco-friendly alternatives to suit today’s construction agenda.
Leading
the world in noise control solutions since 1949, IAC’s eco-friendly
Quiet-Duct attenuators are good news for consulting engineers, acoustical
consultants and specifiers who are keen to minimise the environmental
impact of new and existing buildings.
Developed
at IAC’s R&D facility in New York, USA, the ‘green’
silencers deliver a range of environmentally friendly benefits. The infill
material comprises recycled post-industrial organic fibre treated to resist
combustion and vermin, it is non-toxic, corrosion resistant and the infill
material manufacturing process uses far less energy than the fibreglass
or mineral wool alternatives. Importantly, it also provides equivalent
acoustic performance to conventional infill materials.
IAC’s
Quiet-Duct silencer range is effective across a whole gamut of architectural,
industrial and building services applications. Suitable for a vast array
of acoustic requirements, these fully lab-tested silencers provide specifiers
with solutions to meet almost every conceivable noise reduction criteria.
The silencers deliver high performance both in forward flow and reverse
flow contexts. IAC Quiet Duct designs offer silencers with varied splitter
configurations that minimise pressure drop while maximising acoustic performance.

Gary
Dawson is Business Manager, Building Services at IAC: "Providing
lab tested and certified aero-acoustic data with all our products is what
has always set us apart and while our products are much imitated they
are never matched. Now that we can offer that same technical excellence
in a ‘green’ formulation across all our range, we think we’ve
got the winning combination."
