IAC’S
WINS NOISE CONTROL CONTRACT FOR O2 ARENA
IAC
Building Services Dept. are supplying HVAC noise control equipment for
the new O2 Arena, which is destined to become a major London music and
sporting venue. The Arena is a 23000 seater concert and sport arena, which
will hold 150 music concerts per year. The venue has been booked for the
Gymnastics World Championships in 2009 and is ‘pencilled in’
for the Gymnastics events during the 2012 Olympics. Additionally events
such as Basketball, Ice hockey, and Tennis shall be hosted at professional
level.
The
Arena is being constructed as a building-within-a-building inside the
former Millennium Dome in Greenwich and presents a number of air movement
and acoustic challenges.
Gary
Dawson, Business Manager, Building Services said: “Over the years
we’ve worked on many of the UK’s most well-known, and best
loved sporting facilities. You really could say we have a great ‘track
record’ in stadia acoustics”
