IAC
manufactures a complete range of Building Services noise control products
and systems and has completed thousands of installations worldwide. IAC's
clients include such names as British Airways, Ford, the BBC, National
Power, Sony, Rolls-Royce, IBM, Glaxo, British Gas and Bovis Construction.
Two of our recent projects include:
Chapelfields
BDP
Architects in London specified IAC to design, supply and install 300 slimshield
louvres to enclose an energy centre at the new Chapelfield Shopping Development,
as part of the Norwich re-generation. The intermediate steelwork, supplied
in a different colour, was included in the design, and the acoustic screening
prevented noise breakout to local houses and offices surrounding the new
development.
Gatwick
Following
BAA's decision to upgrade pier work at London's Gatwick Airport, IAC of
Winchester, was contacted by the design team to assist with the new project.
Along each pier leading out to parked aircraft are a series of nodes that
act as boarding and disembarking areas. IAC's brief was to equip each
of the seven nodes with natural ventilation while at the same time protecting
passengers from aircraft engine noise.
To achieve this, IAC designed inlet and outlet acoustic ventilators each
equipped with LP louvres, MS splitters and dampers.
The outlet ventilator was fabricated off-site as a pre-assembled module,
and then craned into position on the roof of the node.
